Senior Managing Director of Capital Markets
With over three decades of experience in the real estate, development and equity industries, Michael Moses focuses on advancing institutional, corporate and high-income investor capital raising initiatives, as well as originating real estate and tax-related transactions.
Michael plays a lead role in investor development and equity capital raising efforts with an emphasis on historic rehabilitation, state and federal tax credits, and JV equity for real estate development and acquisitions. He also leads the sourcing of debt capital for project financing.
Since the 1980s, Michael’s expertise in real estate, corporate and investment banking experience coupled with his knowledge of real estate development and the capital markets have resulted in raising and investing over $3 billion in equity for over 450 properties representing 66,000 apartments nationwide.
Prior to joining GBX Group, Michael served as Chief Investment Officer at The NRP Group, a leading multifamily developer, where he led and managed capital raising efforts generating $1.1 billion for 100+ multifamily properties valued at over $3 billion.
While serving as Senior Vice President at Credit Suisse REFS, Michael originated and deployed over $300 million in equity for multifamily properties. As Director of Acquisitions at GMAC Capital Corp., he closed over 170 transactions representing equity investments in excess of $800 million. Michael was also one of the founders of KeyBank’s Key Global Capital where, as Managing Director, he originated, structured and closed over $525 million of equity investments in more than 140 multifamily projects.
Michael is a guest lecturer for the Farmer School of Business at Miami University and a former lecturer at the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University. He has previously served as a Multifamily Policy Advisor for the Obama Administration. Michael’s community involvement includes support and active participation through boards and committees for Jewish Community Housing, Cleveland Museum of Art, Jewish Community Federation, and the Playhouse Square Foundation.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in international finance from the Boler School of Business at John Carroll University.
