Vice President of Real Estate Asset Management
Brian Cappelli has over 25 years of experience managing and leasing diverse real estate portfolios nationwide. As Vice President of Real Estate Asset Management at GBX Group, Brian is responsible for directing the financial and operational performance of the company’s assets, which consist of historic buildings located throughout the United States.
Brian previously served as Vice President of Operations at Forest City Realty Trust in Cleveland, Ohio where he managed a national portfolio of assets of more than 6 million square feet and net operating income in excess of $110 million. As General Manager of Equity Office Properties Trust, based in Chicago and one of the nation’s largest real estate investment trusts with a total capitalization of $27 billion, Brian was responsible for leasing and managing a 1.3 million square foot office tower in Cleveland’s Central Business District.
Brian served as the 2018-2019 Chair of the Building Owner & Managers Association (BOMA) International and was honored with the prestigious BOMA Fellows recognition. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of BOMA Greater Cleveland, and is a member of BOMA’s Finance and Executive Committee.
Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University, and the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI).
