Historic Information
The Moorhead House was a residence hall for girls funded by a $100,000 bequest from Sam­uel E. Moorhead of New York. Constructed in 1934, the hall is connected by a breezeway to the former YWCA. The hall accommodated 46 res­idents and included a library, lounge, dining hall, and kitchen. The head gardener at the Biltmore designed the terrace entrance.
